David Woodbury, our Head of Learning Spaces & Services, moseyed down to Austin in March to lead a workshop at the South By Southwest Education Conference (SXSWedu) with Elliot Felix and Alex O'Briant of Ennead Architects. Under the umbrella of the South By Southwest family of conferences and festivals, SXSWedu cultivates and empowers a community of engaged stakeholders to advance teaching and learning.

The event, entitled Hack-in-Action, stepped participants through a visioning process to help them find and seize new opportunities within their learning spaces. This included understanding how you arrange activities in a room, paying close attention to the room’s design and reconsidering the space as more actively changing rather than static. The team used moviemaking as a metaphor for the process, including the development of a script, a set, a stage, and a site.
